NB.Always use good screwdrivers when changing electrical connections. Bad screwdrivers ruin screw heads and all connections need to be tight to prevent a “hot connection” which will burn the wires.

Conveyor Motors

Parvalux SD1CSS motor at 13 rpm.
Fits most 700 Texitunnels.
On some older models such as the Cub and Swift dryers the gearbox position needs to be rearranged. Be careful not to lose the lubricant. Use a good screwdriver.

Heating Elements.
Most 700 and 8000 Texitunnels are fitted with curved Vulcan V1 elements.
Older dryers and flash dryers are fitted with square Vulcan V3 elements.
Those with a temperature sensor mounted in them are type KTC.
These can be obtained from Vulcan Refractories Ltd. Tel. 01538 752238.

NB. When fitting elements with a temperature sensor remember that the sensor lead with the red spot on it is POSITIVE and must connect to the red or green line in the sensor cable.
Heating elements can also be obtained from – Ceramix in Ireland, Hawco Tel. 01483 869001 and RS Components in England and KG Steinmetz -Elstein in Germany.


Conveyor Belts
These can be obtained from Techbelt. Tel. 01422376212
The normal belt type is E25/2/2-Film-A36 and a normal 700 Texitunnel would be 700x4050
The belt size is normally written on the inside of the control box cover.
Otherwise the length is 2x the distance between the roller centres plus the circumference of one roller and the width is 6 or 7mm less than the internal length of the roller.
NB. Never make a conveyor belt too tight. It should only be tight enough to drive without slipping.


Power Relays.
If the temperature in the dryer goes up to maximum when the controller is off – the relay has failed in the ON position.

Some large dryers and some 1-phase 240V Mini Dryers are fitted with normal 3 phase contactors although on Minis not all of the connections are used. These are available from any electrical wholesaler, RS, Farnell and Hawco.


Temperature Controllers
Many different controllers have been used but digital replacements for all of them are available from Tecnologic UK. Tel 01250 377600
They can be pre-programmed ready for use.
NB. When replacing controllers with different types the wires often connect to different terminal numbers.

Changing from the Hawco/Cal 8000 analogue controller to
the Tecnologic K49T-HEOR digital controller.

You have to take the wires off from the removable CAL base and connect them directly onto the base of the Tecnologic controller. I suggest that you do it 1 wire at a time. Slide the wires through the controller retaining clip and the front panel before attaching any cables to the new controller.
The numbers on the K49T controller base are very small take care to identify them correctly in good light.

Cal 8000 K49T
Terminal 1 “Live + 240V AC input” to the controller goes onto TLK49 Terminal 7.
Terminal 2 “Neutral –240V AC input” to the controller goes ontoTLK49 Terminal 8.
Terminal 4 “ blue or white Sensor negative –“goes onto TLK49 Terminal 2.
Terminal 5 “brown or green Sensor positive +” goes onto TLK49 Terminal 1.
Terminal 9 “DC to the SSR Neutral” goes onto TLK49 Terminal 12.
Terminal 10 “DC to the SSR Positive” goes onto TLK49 Terminal 11.

When you switch the dryer on the controller will always display TEST as it does a circuit check before operating.

Using the TLK 49 Dual Display Digital Temperature controller
The top line of the display shows the actual temperature of the heating elements in Red and the lower line shows the set temperature in Green.
The red light to the right of the actual temperature display is the power output indicator. This is illuminated when there is power actually going to the heating elements. The red light to the right of the set temperature display illuminates when the alarm condition is on. This is not programmed in a Cal replacement.
To select the temperature press P and then either the up or down arrow. The change is slow at first becoming faster. When the desired temperature is indicated press P again to set the temperature.

K49T Temperaturregler mit Doppeldigitalanze.
Die obere rote Digitalanzeige zeigt die aktuelle Temperatur der Heiz-elemente, die untere grüne Digitalanzeige zeigt die gewünschte, einge-
stellte Temperatur an.
Die rote Lampe rechts von der aktuellen Digitalanzeige zeigt an ob die Heiz-
elemente an- oder abgeschaltet sind. Es leuchtet wenn Strom zu den Heiz-
elementen fliesst. Die rote Lampe rechts von der unteren Digitalanzeige leuchtet wenn der Alarm eingeschaltet ist.
Zur Auswahl einer Temperatur, drücke zuerst P und dann die Pfeiltaste, Pfeil hinauf oder Pfeil hinab, bis die gewünschte Temperatur in der unteren grünen Digitaelanzeig angezeigt wird. Zur Bestätigung dieser neuen ausgewählten Temperatur drücke erneut P.

Most 700 Texitunnels are fitted with F025S Skeleton controllers and a 4k7 potentiometer.
Most Mini Texitunnels are fitted with F226S Skeleton controller and a 4k7 Pot.
All 8000 Texitunnels are fitted with a F226S Skeleton controller a 7639 Choke and a 4k7 Pot.
